Dr. Hans Delaunois-Vanderperren

DVM, CertEM(StudMed), CertEqSc, GespPD, MRCVS.

Hans graduated from Ghent University, Belgium in 1992 as Doctor in Veterinary Medicine. He did his military service in 1993 as an Officer with the Light Infantry before joining the Parasitology Department of his home university as a research-assistant in 1994 where he was responsible for research into equine internal parasites. In 1995 he went into private practice.

In 1996 he enrolled into a post-graduate course which resulted in obtaining the degree of "Specialised Horse Practitioner" in 1999 (GespPD). In the mean time he also managed a Pure-bred Arabian stud-farm.

In 2003 Hans left Belgium to work in Ireland for the stud-season followed by a stud-season in Egypt. He came to the UK in 2004 where he has worked in several practices including an equine referral-hospital. He also enrolled into one of the RCVS certificates: in 2009, he passed the examination and was awarded the Certificate in Equine Medicine (Stud Medicine).

In September 2009, Hans started the on-line "Masters in Equine Science" course from Edinburgh University. This is a 3 year course. After passing the first year with 73% he was awarded the Certificate in Equine Science.

While he has a strong interest in stud-work, Hans has built up a vast experience in most aspects of equine medicine. His latest job at an equine referral hospital also gave him the oportunity to get acquainted with the newest diagnostic and treatment options available nowadays.

His hobbies are rugby (playing for the veterans and refereeing), hacking, photography and parachute-jumping.

Miss Lianne Barrett

Lianne obtained a diploma in Equestrian studies: NCVA Diploma in Equine Anatomy, Veterinary care, and Physiology and Communications level 2 in Ireland in 2000 and passed the Spillers level 1 equine nutrition course in 2008.

She has worked with horses from a very young age. In 2000 she started working with racehorses under several trainers including Aiden O'Brien at Ballydoyle Racing. In 2003 she moved to Egypt as an assistant-trainer of a Pure-bred Arabian race-yard.

Lianne came to the UK in 2004 where she has worked in different veterinary practices and yards. She is currently working at Norfolk Equine Veterinary Services where she's dealing with reception and nursing tasks. Lianne enrolled into the "Equine Nursing Technician level 3 " course organized by the Open College of Equine Studies.

Lianne is also area-representative in Norfolk for the British Grooms Association.

In her spare time she likes to train their Arabian stallion for shows and endurance rides.
